Global Performance Group
01
Overview

Global Performance Group is an enterprise B2B sales training company operating at a serious scale — 120,000+ professionals trained globally, programmes deployed across multiple languages, and clients that include AWS, Dell, TD Bank, and Bank of America. They are not a standard training provider. Their methodology is built around measurable behaviour change: structured, certified, tracked. The brand demands a website that reflects that level of rigour.

The existing WordPress site had not kept pace with the business. Over time it had accumulated pages, navigation layers, and structural complexity that made it harder — not easier — for visitors to understand what GPG actually does and who it’s for. We were brought in to rebuild it from the ground up: rethink the architecture, strip away the noise, and deliver something that matched the company’s positioning in the enterprise market.

The brief was clear: simpler, more authoritative, easier to manage — without losing the SEO ground GPG had built up over years.

02
Problem

The site had the kind of complexity that accumulates gradually, without anyone making a single bad decision. But the end result was a structure that worked against the business. Visitors faced too many paths, too many pages with overlapping content, and a navigation system that required effort to decode. For a company selling to C-suite enterprise buyers, that friction is costly.

Bloated Information Architecture

  • The sitemap had grown organically, resulting in redundant pages and unclear hierarchy
  • Navigation was layered and complicated, making it difficult for visitors to find the right entry point
  • Content was spread across too many sections rather than consolidated into a clear, logical flow

Misaligned Visual Presentation

  • The design didn’t reflect GPG’s positioning — it needed to feel authoritative and enterprise-grade, not just functional
  • UX patterns prioritised completeness over clarity, which diluted the core message

SEO Risk During Redesign

  • GPG had built up meaningful search rankings that couldn’t be sacrificed in the rebuild
  • Simplifying the sitemap meant retiring or consolidating pages — every change required careful URL mapping and redirect planning to protect existing ranking positions

Content Management Friction

  • Internal staff needed to be able to update and expand the site without developer dependency
  • The old structure made routine content changes unnecessarily complex
03
Solution

We approached this as an architecture problem first, a design problem second. Before any visual work began, we mapped the existing site against GPG’s actual business goals and stripped out everything that didn’t serve a clear purpose. The result was a leaner sitemap, a cleaner user journey, and a structure designed to scale without accumulating clutter again.

Information Architecture Overhaul
We rebuilt the sitemap from scratch — consolidating overlapping content, reducing navigation depth, and creating a clear hierarchy that reflects how GPG’s prospects actually think about their problems. Every page now has a defined purpose and a clear next step.

Enterprise-Grade Design System
Rather than designing individual pages, we built a design system with reusable components: consistent typographic scales, modular section layouts, and a visual language that reads as clean, corporate, and authoritative. This gives GPG the flexibility to grow the site without it fragmenting visually over time.

Structured Content Architecture
The underlying content structure was built for editors, not developers. Internal staff can add programmes, update case studies, and manage content without touching code. The system is opinionated enough to maintain consistency, flexible enough to accommodate growth.

SEO Migration & Redirect Mapping
Every URL change was documented and mapped before launch. We built a comprehensive redirect structure so that existing rankings transferred cleanly to the new site — no orphaned pages, no lost link equity, no ranking drops from the structural changes.

04
Results

The redesigned site gives Global Performance Group a web presence that matches the calibre of the clients they work with. The architecture is simple enough that first-time visitors can immediately understand what GPG does and who it’s for. The internal team can manage and update content without developer involvement, and the component-based structure means the site can scale as the business grows.

  • Simplified navigation — visitors reach the right content in fewer clicks
  • Clean, enterprise-grade aesthetic aligned with GPG’s positioning in the B2B market
  • Internal staff can edit, update, and expand the site independently
  • SEO rankings preserved through structured URL mapping and redirect implementation
  • Scalable component library prevents future structural drift
  • Ongoing maintenance and development relationship — Hexweb remains actively involved in the site’s evolution
